WTF? It's snowing. Again. It's not sticking yet but there's definitely white stuff coming down from the sky. The 6 inches of snow we got last night was just starting to melt too.
It's April 18th (9 days til my birthday) and we have about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground. And it's still coming down. In fact, Seattle set a record today for the latest snowfall in a year. The previous record was April 17, 1972.
It's gotten really foggy too. It seriously feels like the middle of December rather than the middle of April. I just hope the snow melts somewhat by tomorrow since I have an interview I need to get to by 3:45 and the latest I could have notified them I wouldn't be able to attend was 4 hours ago.
You know, if I were to ever argue against global warming, today's weather would be a big part of my argument.
Remember all the pretty snow in my pictures from Saturday? Well we got more snow Saturday night/Sunday morning (making a total of close to a foot of snow on the ground) and then it started to rain. It hasn't stopped since. It is currently 48 degrees outside and while it's not exactly pouring rain, it is coming down pretty hard. And of course all this rain means that the snow is melting. Now instead of everything being covered in white, it's all green and brown and slushy. Even the snowman on top of the mailboxes is almost gone. Hopefully the snow comes back soon and makes everything pretty again.
Well, kind of. Two weeks after we usually get our first snow there is finally white stuff falling from the sky. It's technically mixed rain & snow but the snow is still there. (Although, the snow does seem to be the majority now.) The snow may not be sticking but at least it's here - finally. (That's global warming for ya.)
Edit: Well the temperature has decreased 3 degrees since it started snowing an hour ago and the grass is showing signs that the snow is sticking. I wish I didn't have a paper to write so I could curl up with a blanket & book and just enjoy the day. I also wish I had done my grocery shopping yesterday in the rain instead of waiting until today. Not looking forward to that walk.
