So that Boeing Power On energy drink? It tastes like a melted Otter Pop mixed with carbonated water. And not in a good way. Not to mention that it was a weird yellow color that, when I poured it into a glass, looked like urine. I only made it through about half of it before I gave up and dumped it down the sink. I'm tempted to monitor my vitals for the next couple of hours just to see if it had any effect on them.
A little over a year ago Boeing launched the new 787 Dreamliner. While the first 787 has yet to take flight (and for reasons I can't divulge, don't expect it to anytime soon), they have officially turned the "power on". At least according to all the new Boeing 787 swag my dad gave me today.
First up is the 787 Power On pack:
It includes a 787 Power On flashlight which, instead of shining a normal light, shines a 787 Power On logo. (There's also a Power On pin which I didn't take a picture of.)
Inside the pack was a can of the official 787 Power On energy drink:
I haven't tried it yet and to be honest, I'm a little afraid of what it might taste like.
I'm amazed at all the stuff Boeing is giving away in regards to the 787. What I've shown in this entry and last year's is only about half the 787 stuff my dad has gotten. (He's been keeping all the shirts, hats, and fleece vests.) The plane is way behind schedule and things aren't working the way they're supposed to but they still have the time and money to give their workers 787 swag. Let's hope the plane is worth all this stuff.
I didn't say anything before it happened because I didn't want to jinx it (although it almost was by my dad twisting his back in a bad way 2 days before the event) but yesterday I was lucky enough to attended the premiere of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Everett, Washington. This was actually the second roll-out of a Boeing plane that I've attended - we were there when Boeing rolled out the 777 in 1994. For it being a corporate event, the premiere actually went buy pretty fast. They started the ceremony at 3:30 and brought the plane out at 4:27.
I took 96 pictures at the event yesterday but I won't show them all to you and I'll try to break them up into categories so it's easier to tell what's going on.
