What's your favorite thing about being sick?
This QotD is a little psychic because I was going to write up a post about how I'm mad that the 8th graders I teach got me sick for Spring Break.
Anyway, I don't have a favorite thing about being sick. My throat hurts, my nose runs, and my face gets raw from blowing my nose so much. The only good thing about being sick this week is that I don't really have to go anywhere. Except on Thursday - I hope this cold is (mostly) over by then.
What one common food item do you refuse to eat?
Chocolate. But really, that's all my sister's fault.
My house smells like a gas station and it's freaking me out a little. I've already called my dad and let him know and he thinks it's probably from a leaking gas can in the garage but (because I'm crazy like this) I'm still worried the house might explode. And of course my bedroom is right over where the leaky gas can is so my previously minor headache is getting bigger. Thankfully I'll be leaving in a few minutes to go pick up my mom so hopefully it will diminish in that time. But, for now, I think I'll go find the place in the house furthest away from the garage.
Edit 4 hours later: The gas cans were moved outside to the back porch about 3 hours ago and the house is almost completely free of any gas-like smell. (The garage still smells some but that could also be due to our gas heater & water heater.) My headache thankfully went away but it was this close to coming back thanks to our not so lovely Red Robin dining experience. *sigh* Today has not been a good day.
Eastern Washington University (the even more East version of Central) got Rick Rolled on Saturday during a girl's basketball game. I find that both awesome and hilarious at the same time.
I like how they even got the cheerleaders to go along with it. And how the crowd gets into the song and starts dancing to the song (and not just the plants).
Also, don't forget, tomorrow's the next round of the anti-Scientology protests.
Show us a sign.
On a semi-related note: are the damn Culture, Entertainment, Music, etc. QotD's ever going to change again? 'Cause it's been the current ones for almost a week now.
Hulu opened to the public yesterday and if you don't already have an account I recommend getting one. Even though I've had an account since November, I didn't really start using it until a month or so ago and I'm loving it. It's given me a chance to legally catch up on episodes of shows I've missed. Hulu is run by Fox & NBC so you do only get their shows (and shows from the other networks they own) but there's still a wide range of shows to choose from. They also offer movies now although they have a very limited selection right now - especially ones they offer full versions of. Fancast is another way to legally watch shows online but while they offer more than just Fox & NBC shows, you can only watch certain episodes for a given amount of time and their Fox & NBC shows are straight from Hulu. Also, they don't offer full movies and, unlike Hulu, you can't embed video clips. Like so:
Saw this ad during "The Daily Show". I would love to live in a world covered in bubble wrap.
A little over a month ago Anonymous held their first protest against Scientology. This Saturday (March 15th) they're doing it again. Protests will be held all around the world so keep an eye out for one near you. If you don't know why a group of people from the internet are protesting Scientology, check out these links. You can also check out Operation Mock and Enturbulation (although their site seems to be running a little slow right now - understandably so) for more information. If I wasn't going to be moving crap out of my apartment this weekend, I might have a chance to go downtown and see them. Hopefully the protests will make the news again.
