What's your favorite Beatles song? Bonus points if you share it with us.
It's impossible to have just one favorite Beatles song. The ones high on my list (in no particular order) would be Eleanor Rigby, Strawberry Fields, Taxman, Paperback Writer, I Am the Walrus, Penny Lane, Yesterday, Hello Goodbye, Get Back, Come Together, Something, and Norwegian Wood.
What's the last movie you saw in the theater? Rented?
The last movie I saw in the theater was "Inglorious Basterds" (which was good enough to forgive the misspelling of the title) but I'm debating whether or not to see "Taking Woodstock" today. The last movie I rented was "Run Fatboy Run" which was different than I expected but better than I expected it to be.
What have you been putting off doing?
Submitted by BeautifullyBroken.
Cleaning my apartment. However, since the temperature has finally reached reasonable levels, I think it might actually be cool enough to start doing that today.
Anyone know how to block someone from your Vox?
It's the 4th of July which means it's time to break out my favorite song about America.
I think instead of trying to post a picture everyday I'll just make a weekly Project 365 post. I'm still taking pictures everyday but I just don't have the energy to make a post everyday. The last time I posted was last Thursday so this will be a long one.
Day 26:
I got bored during dinner and balanced my fork on my plate. I know, I lead such an exciting life.
Day 27:
My parents went to Hawaii and all I got was this t-shirt. (And my dad's 518 photos to look at.)
Day 28:
Went downtown last weekend and took the most tourist-y photo possible. (Side rant: It never ceases to amaze me how many people think they can just drive through Pike Place Market. Unless you get there right when it opens you're not going to get a parking spot. And after that it's not worth driving through to get to a parking garage because there's so many people walking around.)
Day 29:
Probably the only photo you will ever see of members of my family. We made homemade peach ice cream for memorial day and it was wonderful.
Day 30:
I had some leftover boxes after an investigation in my Course 1 classes so a couple of my 7th period support kids decided to use some and make bathroom passes for me. My students are actually excited to use them since I've told them that if they take one of the passes I don't have to sign their planners - which means they don't have to take their planners with them to the bathroom.
Day 31:
The "LFP for Peace Society" (or something) was having their monthly (weekly?) anti-war protest. Probably couldn't protest on Memorial Day since I'm sure the pro-war veterans were out there instead.
Day 32:
Way down there on the left-hand side you can just barely make out Mt. Rainier. I've driven over 520 twice in the past 2 days and each time I've wished I could stop and take a real picture of the mountain.
Day 33:
Can you guess the answer to this question? (It reminds me though that I haven't been to the original Red Robin in a while and I've been near it the past couple of days too. I went to the one at Northgate tonight instead.)
I've almost skipped these past couple of days because I've had a hard time thinking of something to take a picture of. It's been nice out but I just haven't had the time to go outside and find things to take pictures of. Maybe this weekend.
Day 24:
My birthday present to myself this year was an iHome alarm clock with a dock for my Zune. I'd been looking for a new alarm clock and something to hook my Zune up to in my bedroom and when I saw iHome was coming out with one I decided to get it. While the alarm does wake me up on time (thank God), it could be a little louder but I do like that it has a 5-day alarm so I don't have to remember to turn it off on the weekends (although this weekend I will have to).
Day 25:
While my iHome Zune dock was a birthday present to myself, I stimulated the economy by spending my tax refund on a new recliner. I ordered it the day before my birthday and they called today to set up a delivery date 2 weeks from Saturday. Before my new one arrives I thought I'd take a picture of my current one for nostalgia's sake. My current rocker is at least 40 years old and once belonged to my grandparents. I've actually been using this chair on and off for most of my life but, after 24 years, it's time for a new one.
So I haven't updated my Project 365 in almost a week. I have no excuse except that by the time I would remember to post, I wouldn't really feel like it. I apologize in advance for the length of this post.
Day 18:
My low level math kids made tessellations last week and this meant that I was finally able to post some student work on my walls. Some were good and some were... not so good.
Day 19:
Friday was nice enough that I had ice cream for the first time since September. This is Baskin & Robbin's Baseball Nut ice cream. It has vanilla ice cream, blackberry swirls, and cashews. I always enjoy cashews and they work surprisingly well in this ice cream.
Day 20:
My sister and I spent some time on Saturday wandering around the University of Washington campus and even though it's technically a "tobacco free" campus they still have smoking stations around campus. I like how this one somehow ended up with a Care Bear theme.
Day 21:
After my sister and I watched DVDs on it Friday night, the sound somehow got turned off on my parents' VCR/DVD player. My sister couldn't get it working before she left on Saturday so I went back over on Sunday with the owner's manual to see if I could fix it before they came home this Wednesday. Thankfully I did and now they'll never know. (My sister and I were both dreading having to tell our dad that we broke his VCR.)
Day 22:
I came home yesterday to find all these papers taped to the door of my apartment. Thankfully they're just to notify me of painting going on tomorrow and not kicking me out or saying my rent's been raised. Now I just have to remember not to come home before 4 tomorrow.
Day 23:
My to-do list of everything I need to get done after the kids leave at 12:20 tomorrow. I'm way behind on grading things & planning so I hope my classroom-mate doesn't stop by tomorrow afternoon so I can just blast my music and work for 3 hours.
Another picture of flowers
I believe these are azaleas (they look like ones my parents have and I've always called those azaleas). They're right outside the door I go in and out of every day for work and since they bloomed such a nice purple/pink color I thought I'd take a picture of them. I think the picture would have been nicer if the sun had been out but alas, it was pouring rain when I took this picture. Hopefully the sun comes out this weekend because I have plans that involve being outside.
I almost forgot to take a picture yesterday and when I finally did, I just didn't feel like posting it so it's another two-for-one day.
Day 15:
The rhododendrons are starting to bloom around here so spring must finally be on its way. These are outside one of the buildings near my apartment but I pass by them to get my mail & I can just see the top of them from my balcony. I do wish though that there were more colors of rhododendrons around besides just pink.
Day 16:
The leadership class at the school I work at wanted to show their appreciation for us staff so they made us all doorstops. I love them because they have our names on them (so now we know if somebody steals one and uses it) and my room needed a good doorstop. Since I share a room with another teacher I'm guessing we'll both use our respective doorstops when we're teaching. One of my students (who's also in the leadership class) made mine so it's more personalized than my roommate's.
